Bio

Hi! I’m Melinda.

I’m a social media expert and higher education communications enthusiast based in San Diego, California.

My immersion into the digital world began in 2007 after starting an online Miley Cyrus fan club that garnered 30k members (the peak of Hannah Montana; what a time to be alive).

Since then, I’ve expanded my work beyond pop stars and into reaching diverse audiences through crafting and executing strategic communications plans. I currently work as the Social Media Strategist at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

My stories and digital content have been featured in Smile Politely Magazine, Champaign Center Partnership, SoCal Contractor News & Views Magazine, University of Illinois GradBlogs, USD News, SDSU Magazine, in Spanish in rgtogether blogs (Madrid), UC San Diego Today, and as a co-author in the textbook, “Media Stereotypes: From Ageism to Xenophobia” (2020).

Most importantly, I’m a people person who loves creating strong content to tell a great story. What’s yours?
