CREATE NEW SAN DIEGO HOLIDAY TRADITIONS FROM HOME

There’s no shortage of holiday cheer in San Diego. Whether you find yourself here or elsewhere this season, you can create magical new traditions while embracing a fun twist on the old ones, too.

Jingle all the way to these various contact-free events from San Diego businesses that provide fun and safe memories for the whole family to enjoy. Each event adheres to social distancing measures and is COVID-compliant with San Diego County guidelines.

VIRTUAL VISITS WITH SANTA
Meetings with Santa are a holiday staple for many families. Keep the memories going this year online with your choice of a virtual visit Santa, the Elf on the Shelf, or the Snow Princess. Through San Diego’s Bollotta Entertainment, families can book a 5-minute virtual meeting for up to five children as a magical holiday event. Children can share their wish lists, ask questions, and even get a screenshot photo of themselves alongside the character of their choice. Santa, the Elf on the Shelf, and the Snow Princess are available for a limited number of virtual visits from now until December 13.

CHRISTMAS DINNERS TO-GO
This year, you can enjoy one of the best meals San Diego has to offer from the comfort of your home. La Jolla landmark restaurant George’s at the Cove is offering a three-course curbside dinner for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including Prime Rib with twice-baked potato, Vegetable Pot Pie with squash veloute and fines herbes powder and three varieties of house-made Bûche De Noël. Enjoy your holidays with stress-free curbside pickup and with delicious add-ons like Julekage Christmas bread, Shrimp Cocktail, Maine Lobster, or Sweet potato gnocchi.

DRIVE-THRU CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The Drive-Thru Holiday Experience at Noah Homes’ Enchanted Village brings you the best of San Diego Christmas lights, all in one spot. This in-car experience includes over 500,000 holiday lights, interactive displays, music, and even a drive-thru light tunnel. All ticket proceeds support Noah Homes’ mission of supporting people with developmental disabilities. The Village features hundreds of giant candy canes, a forest of Christmas trees, Candy Land, nightly appearances by Santa, and much more. The event takes place in Spring Valley Village on December 8-23 from 5-8pm.

STREAM A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION ONLINE
If Christmas isn’t complete in your household without a visit from Scrooge and Tiny Tim, then the North Coast Repertory Theatre’s latest production is a must-see. A CHRISTMAS CAROL: As told by one man to whom it matters, is Zander Michaelson’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. You can stream this classic through the theatre’s Filmed Productions Online feature, which gives you a 48-hour rental period to enjoy the joys of live theatre from home. Watch your favorite characters come to life in a one-man show version of this classic tale that will make a great treat for family members young and old until December 31.

We hope you all Find Happy and Stay Healthy in San Diego this holiday season. Until we meet again, we’ll keep San Diego warm for you.
